Director of Digital Strategy American Battlefield Trust
Swiader—call him "Larry"—has spent his career at the intersection of
technology, media, and education in service of how it can improve people's
lives. Currently, as Director of Digital Strategy at the American Battlefield
Trust, he oversees all aspects of Trust's digital presence in support of
preserving battlefields and informing the public about the vital role these
battlefields played in determining the course of our nation’s history. Larry's
oversight includes digital fundraising activities, marketing, and education.
Formerly, he was
the creator of the Bedsider.org program which made use of human-centered design
to change the reproductive health behaviors of young adults in the U.S. The
intervention was proven to work in a ground-breaking study published in 2015. Previous
to that experience, Larry used technology as a tool to teach about the history
of the Holocaust and to motivate people to act to end contemporary genocide.

with a degree in Television, Radio, and Film and earned a Master's degree in
Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation from Syracuse University's
School of Education. He recently joined the board of Teens Run DC, which aims
to improve health and social outcomes for underserved youth through mentoring
and a distance running program. The organization got its start at Wilson High
School where Larry's daughter just finished her senior year. He finds inspiration
